For the past 20 years, I have specialized in designing and developing outdoor equipment: tents, backpacks (technical + lifestyle), daypacks, travel gear, sleeping bags, furniture, and accessories.
When embarking on an outdoor adventure, typically, it's only the most beloved pieces of equipment that are brought along on the journey. I know this because I am very particular about the gear I choose to carry whether I'm climbing, mountain biking, trail running, or on a long backpack trip. I've always felt that the best gear is uncomplicated, lightweight, comfortable, and goes "unnoticed" because the details are well thought-out.
What makes me passionate about designing outdoor gear is the multiplicity of ways that gear connects both physically and emotionally to the individual who loves to be outside. There is an intrinsic necessity to focus on functionality and fit that makes the process challenging and collaborative.
I feel tremendously grateful to be a part of the outdoor industry community. It is here that I have had the privilege to learn and grow through the generosity of many wise mentors, inspiring team members, and long term factory partners. The work that goes into creating the best gear doesn't happen alone.
I created Fort Ranger out of that spirit of collaboration.
